For more than 15 years, Rufino Beccar Varela has worked in the most prestigious firms in Argentina, advising local and multinational clients on matters relating to customs and foreign trade law. He represent our clients in all customs proceedings before judicial and administrative authorities to challenge international trade tax assessments, refund requests, enforcement actions by the tax authorities, proceedings before the National Customs Agency and all internal customs, the National Tax Court, the courts on administrative litigation matters and the Argentine Supreme Court. He also assists our clients in the valuation of merchandise pursuant to Argentine regulations, the assessment and valuation of related-party transactions and the implementation of complex cross-border tax and customs structures.

Rufino also advises on local trade regulations as well as regional and international trade laws, including legislation and recommendations issued under the GATT, or issued by the World Trade Organization, the World Customs Organization, MERCOSUR and ALADI. He also advices on origin regimes, tariff preferences, requirements for the certification of origin and preferential programs (temporary importation, capital goods importation and turnkey industrial plant importation, among others). He is a member of the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies and the Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies.
